Sticks-to-Schools Program
Sticks-to-Schools is a noprofit organization devoted to reducing the epidemic of chilhood obesity by making exercise fun. The organization works with schools in the Greater Bay Area to introduce lacrosse into their physical education curriculum or after school programs. Since 2005, the program has served 40,000 youth in 80 elementary, middle and high schools.
In January 2010 Rancho Romero Elementary School was chosen to benefit from this program. They received 40 beginner sticks and balls, 2 stick carrier bags, 2 curriculum guides to help implement lacrosse and an on-site orientation for a total of 10 hours by professional lacrosse instructors.
Please take a moment to view this video of the event. The teaching was top notch from Coach Bob and Coach Jen and the students were very engaged.
Sticks-toSchools is sponsored by Washington Stealth Lacrosse.
