As part of the ballot language for the 2009 Measure C parcel tax measure, it was required that a committee be formed that includes 9 members of the community to provide oversight on the expenditures. This committee helps to ensure that funds are being spent for purposes approved by the voters. The original committee has been in place since 2009 and the terms of the current members are expiring.
Residents in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District interested in overseeing these expenditures are encouraged to apply for a seat on the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee. These seats are for a two-year term and there is no compensation.
Persons interested are urged to fill out and return an application form. Applications must be turned in no later than October 31, 2012.
Applications will be reviewed and recommendations made to the Board of Education at the December 11, 2012 Board meeting.
